Staying in one of the old traditional houses and living among the local people, you will be able to live like an islander and totally forget the stresses of modern life. Come and see for yourself why people who come to Symi become charmed with this special island and keep returning year after year. One of the most fascinating parts of the excursion is the visit of the Panormitis monastery dedicated to Archangel Michael, who is also the protector of the locals of Symi. The small narrow streets and the steps, which are hundreds of years old, invite you to explore and wander the neoclassical village of Symi, famous for the sponge trade. To rest and have a delicious meal, there are numerous taverns waiting for you around the seaport.
